Lambing

After waiting for over 6 months due to the adverse weather last spring we now had our first lambs of Cotswold Origin.

Cotswold is an old English Breed considered one of the few Gourmet Sheep Meats in the world.

After 2 breeeding cycles, we finally had succes in having our first own Cotswold-Crossbred offspring.

They are extremely pretty (I think), with freckles on their face and legs and more curly hair than normal sheep...

We will have up to 30 lambs this year and in about one year, we should know how the meat tastes...

But don't worry - We only process the Males. Females stay with us permanently.

Plus they have a happy life on pasture every day, guarded by our brave guardian Llamas...

Lavender Harvest is over

We had a very successful Harvest this year and after over 5 weeks of hard hand-labor, it is finally over...

the distilled essential oils and hydrosols have a very good quality and will be available next year,

the dried flower buds are amazing and will have to through another few cleanings until they can be used for tea, desserts or cooking.

next year we will experiment with a few new lavender varieties...

Vegetable seeding

Last week, we finished seeding almost 4000 Flower, Herb and Vegetable Seeds in the Greenhouse.

The Sunflowers are already sprouting and will be used for Cut-Flowers during the Lavender Festival and for a new Flower Garden next to our new Flower-Shop.

We also seeded ornamental Gourds, Corn and Amaranth for the Restaurant and Rooms Decoration.

European Herbs and Vegetables, including Potatoes, Beets, Onions, Garlics and Basil were seeded for use in the Grand Oak Restaurant,

Pumpkins will be used for the Pumpkin Festival in Fall and  Birdhouse Gourds for Birdhouse or Childrens crafts on the Animal Farm...

and many more Flowers will be used to lighten up the whole Grounds of the Resort and Farm...

This should be a nice, flowery Summer!
