Thankful

I try to remember to be thankful everyday. I even have a special necklace that I put on each morning to remind me that today is a new day and to try to do my very best. It's important not take for granted all the blessings we have in our lives. And not just on Thanksgiving but everyday.

To love and be loved is one of life's greatest joys. That message arrived unexpectantly this week in the form of a very large box. When I opened it and finally cleared out the packing materials, I found a beautiful framed cross-stitching with birds and flowers, intricately woven through the words. This treasure had been created forty years ago by my husband's mother, Jiggs. I never met Jiggs. She died of breast cancer long before I fell in love with her son. But holding this piece, I could feel her talking to me across the years. My husband's Aunt Kay sent it to me and I am very grateful to her.

I am also grateful to all the wonderful people I have met through Local Harvest. Because of you, I find homes for my beautiful lemons and people who enjoy them as much as I do. Thank You. Today and everyday.
