The weather may be hot and humid.  During the early morning and late afternoon hours when the weather is the coolest part of the day you can plant a culinary herb garden.  A selection of fresh culinary herbs that you can use for all your cooking needs.Bay, Chives, Dill, Thyme, Basil, Oregano, Sage, Mint and Tarragon.  Plant a small plot area near your kitchen for easy access.  If you do not want to plant a plot than set your herb containers in a full sun area.    View our links in my Herbs en' Route website and contact them for helpful garden planting ideas or plant material selections.

Customers, Garden center, farm service center, stores or markets, be selective in your choice of bedding plants.It makes a difference when it is time to plant.Check for pests on the plant.Select robust, plants in color, good roots, uniformed size and a plant that is ‘full’ , a plant that fills the pot size. Plants with these qualities are a good choice for your customer(s) vegetable and herb garden planting.  Selecting a healthy plant, and with maintanence care, increases your probability of a happy customer, and a healthy, productive garden. 

More Than Just A Culinary Herb 

Herbs en' Route Landscape Suggestions  

Make the most of a large or small outdoor area by using culinary herbs in your landscape.  By combining herbs with foliage you will create contrast and color.

The herb Lavender, blooms a purple color flower and can grow in a dry, rocky, sunny location.

Use a perennial aromatic foliage of Lemon Thyme or  Oregano in a landscape.  Cut them back in late Fall and overwinter them with a bark mulch or straw.  Next Spring you will see re-growth of new foliage.

A stronger lemon scent, much more tender perennial is Lemon Verbena. Takes sun or partial shade.

Create more into your landscape.  Use all the wonderful variety of herbs.
