IL Honey Bills - NEWS
We did get Representative Fortner to support our
Senate bill (SB2959) in committee today, so thanks would be appreciated to him:

He also has a bill in reference to Honey which will be heard tomorrow

Representative Fortner had HB 5755 heard yesterday and it cleared with a 7 - 0 vote.
HB 6132 will be heard on Tuesday, March 2nd
SB 2959 Will be heard on Tuesday as well.
As Bee Keepers, we keep the standard that "Produce Local and Use Local" are the key words here.

In order to have Honey Producers continue to provide Local, Fresh and Unadulterated Honey we NEED these Bills passed.
Besides the Farmers Market Availability - the cottage industry (Soap, Candle, and Propalis) will be decimated if we allow the IDH (Illinois Department of Health) to restrict any Honey Production by small sustainable Keeps.
Please contact your local legislator and ask them to co-sponsor HB 6132 and SB 2959.
