Baby Goats

Well,  it's that time of the year when our does are giving birth.  While I'd luv to keep all of them,  we have to sell them off so I can start milking my girls.  My little does sell for $100.00 each while the little bucks go for $50.00.  Disbudding can be done for an additional cost as well as neutering for the little bucks.

One of the does for sale, born on 12/21, has some damage to her ears.  She was born early and exposed to freezing temperatures.  Her ears suffered from frostbite, and were permanently damaged. She wound up living inside our house for over 2 weeks, and got to spend the Christmas/New Years holiday with us.  We named her "Precious", and allowed her to grow and drink her mama's milk as she recovered from her bout with hyperthermia. Because she was a winter baby,  we could not take any milk from her moma, leaving it all to her.  She is now a very strong, healthy young lady in need of a home.  She is the only kid we have, who I will not sell as Chevre (meat).  She is a pet-only.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.

Thank you for all the graces and blessings. You have betowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends.

Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessing throughout the coming year.

This we ask in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen.
