Beautiful summer weather with highs in the mid 80's the past several days - typical Indian Summer in our area. However, last week after several rainy days and nights, the winds arrived and brought cold temps with them.
And then when the winds left the COLD temps moved in and did their work on the area gardens / farms. The cold evening temp went down to the low to mid 20s the 11th of September. We rather expected a frost about the 10th of September, but not a killing freeze! Since the 11th the temps are warm both during day and night -- yesterday the high was in the mid 80's.
Now is the time to plant garlic for next year's harvest. We did have a good crop of garlic this year - we use our biggest garlic gloves for planting in our garden area. (Garlic is such a good vegetable).
I'm not a gambler, just a farmer --- well, I guess that's kinda the same thing, isn't it.
Now time to clean up the garden area .... winter will soon be here for good.
We've enjoyed our local Farmers Markets - we've even encouraged and assisted another Farmers Market in our area to get started ....
Counting our Blessings .... preparing for 2015 Farmers Market time
