Bluegrass Farmers Market

I wish you could see the big grin on my face! I am sooooo excited about the Saturday market. It's our 2012 Market Grand Opening Day and we hope all of our regular shoppers will be joined by a bunch of new customers. I think the 500 Wildcat Blue market totes that we are giving away will introduce some new folks to our 100% homegrown/produced farmers market. :)

You see, we are not a huge market, we do not offer entertainment or food booths, we do not have five markets a week (how do you farm if you are at the market?) nor will you be able to find corn in April! The Bluegrass Farmers' Market is just that...a farmers market and we don't claim to be anything but a true farmers market. If you are looking for honest to gosh homegrown and local, we can guarantee it because our farmers are inspected on a regular basis to ensure that they are growing, raising, making or baking what they sell. And, each farmer has attended and been certified in GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) training...we take farming seriously! One more thing...every farmer is Kentucky Proud, not just the whole market. We want our customers to know that when you shop at the Bluegrass Farmers' Market, you are truly supporting local growers and not people who might buy and resell. In other words, please do not confuse the Bluegrass Farmers' Market with the Lexington Farmers Market...we are the farmers market, they are the festival market! Both are good for Lexington, it just depends on what you are looking for when you shop outside the grocery store.

We'll be set up in the beautiful tree lined parking lot of Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs, right next door to the Glenn Auto Mall on Richmond Rd. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly!
