Bluegrass Farmers Market

Oh my gosh...tomorrow is the day, we open our new location at the Liquor Barn Hamburg!!! We are so excited...I'm having a hard time controlling myself! lol Seriously, it has been a very long winter of searching for the perfect location that would meet all of the rules and regulations in order to set up our market. Our Bluegrass Farmers' Market Board of Directors and our search committee have literally worked their butts off so that our members would have a place to sell their homegrown goodness to all of our loyal customers. We thank them so very much. We have a new home!!! But, don't forget that through all of this the folks at Azur Restaurant & Patio welcomed us back with open arms. Our continued thanks to them for all of their support. I have to tell you that we are one happy bunch of farmers and are all looking forward to a great 2015 market season at both market locations!

So, what will you find on opening day at the Liquor Barn Hamburg market location? How about some wonderful jams, jellies, bean soup mix and delicious baked goods from McMaine's Riverhaven Farm! Tomatoes, Etc. will be on hand to take orders for heirloom tomato and pepper transplants...get them while you can! The folks at Herb'n Renewal will be bringing their hand blended herb seasoning, including their Season'n Salt which is once again making an appearance at the market due to popular demand, hand crafted soaps and don't forget a little catnip for your kitties! Rumor has it that there might even be some fresh harvested lettuce available too. And, the Master Gardener's will be on hand to answer your gardening questions from 9 until 12!

I know that this looks like a slim list but I think our farmers are busy getting their fields ready or even planting and they just didn't have time to let me know what will be available this week. That's probably the reason I only heard from one of the farmers at our Azur Restaurant & Patio market. Hokhmah Farm let me know that they would be there but weren't sure about what they would bring...it'll be great no matter what it is! Hopefully I'll have more to report next week.
