It's the 4th of July weekend and certainly a time to celebrate the reason it's a holiday. The 4th is also known as Independence Day in commemoration of the the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
I can't think of a more independent group of people than American farmers. They work the soil, they put their sweat and equity into making sure that the people of our United States of America get to enjoy the wholesome goodness that their hours of dedication provide. So, on this Independence Day weekend, we celebrate the privilege of being able to provide only the very best locally grown fruits and vegetables. Come join us in our celebration of America...our red, white and blue pride will be be in abundance!
When I say red, white and blue, I really mean it! Yup, we will have red, white and blue taters available! Think about a patriotic potato salad to go with those all American ASH free beef burgers! Nothing is more “4th of July” than fresh from the garden berries and we'll have plenty of red raspberries and blueberries! Don't forget those blackberries, although I have no idea why they call them blackberries because they certainly aren't black in color...just ask my stained purple fingers from last week's harvest!
The 4th of July is traditionally celebrated with fireworks, parades and picnics with friends and family. Wow, does the Bluegrass Farmer's Market ever have the perfect fix'ins for that picnic table!
