Bluegrass Farmers Market

The snow is gone and I can actually see grass and I can't tell you how excited I am. It means spring is just around the corner. :) You all know what that means...the Bluegrass Farmers' Market is about to open its 2015 market season! This has been a very loooooooooong winter for our market. As most of you know we lost our lease with our Richmond Rd. market location and the search started, and is still ongoing, for a replacement site. Yes, they have been narrowed down to a few but our diligent search committee and board of directors are still working with the folks at planning and zoning to make sure that we have a great permanent location. The really great news is that Azur Restaurant & Patio has welcomed us back for a second season! Thank you Jeremy Ashby and crew!

Although it is very early for a 100% homegrown/produced market to open in Kentucky, we do have a few members that will be at the Azur Restaurant & Patio market on March 21^st! No, you will not find corn or tomatoes!!! But look for lamb, baked goods, honey and even dog treats! Hey, it's a start to a great market season and you'll be guaranteed that you'll be purchasing only honest to gosh local items! Our members grow, raise, make or bake what they sell...guaranteed!
