Bluegrass Farmers Market

Saturday is almost upon us and that means you'll be able to get some honest to gosh 100% homegrown goodness at the Bluegrass Farmers' Market! There's still plenty of summer fruits and veggies available and we're starting to see some of the later crops coming in. Remember to freeze or can or as my grandma used to say “put up” that goodness to enjoy all winter...you'll be glad that you did when the snow is falling and you're enjoying “fresh” corn and green beans. :) Don't forget, you can freeze cantaloupe and watermelons chunks too!

Both market locations are still going strong even though you might notice a few missing faces this week due to different circumstances. But, have no fear...they will be back next week.

Here's a bit of what you'll find this Saturday at the Bluegrass Farmers' Market...

RICHMOND RD.

JP FOODS will have their wonderful traditional and Bourbon smoked pimento cheese spreads...maek sure you try a sample. You'll be hooked!

CALUDI'S FIELDS will be bringing their great fruit jams and red ripe tomatoes!

OVERMAN'S BG FRUITS & VEGETABLES will be loaded down with tomatoes, squash, corn and maybe even some beets! Reduced price tomato seconds too!

GREEN GARDEN ON COLBY will have heirloom watermelons...the kind with seeds! Plenty of tomatoes and potatoes. They'll also have some tomato seconds for canning and freezing!

BARRON'S FARM will be bringing a variety of green beans, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant and sweet peppers! They may even have some grapes!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have sweet corn, tomatoes, green beans, cantaloupes, potatoes, squash, onions and loads more!

KELLY'S KOBE BEEF & HERMAN'S HAPPY HOGS will be bringing their Antibiotic, Steroid and Hormone (ASH) free beef and pork. Look for specials like one pound breakfast sausage rolls for $3.75 and 100% “Waygu” Kobe ground beef one pound rolls for $5.00! Take note that when they say “one pound rolls” they usually mean more than a pound!

JONES PRODUCE will be bringing tomatoes, onions, potatoes, green beans, cantaloupes, watermelons and maybe even some corn!

BEYOND ORGANIC FARMS will have plenty of tomatoes, potatoes, okra, green beans, zucchini, squash and plenty more!

ON TAPP DAIRY will be bringing their grass fed beef and chicken, veal and pork cuts! Farm fresh eggs too!

HERB'N RENEWAL is sorry to report that they will not be at the market this Saturday. Drew had surgery and the doctor said to stay home and rest. Hopefully they will be back next week!

MCMAINE'S RIVERHAVEN FARM will be missed this week too...but, they will be back next week!

“R” FAMILY FARM has had a set back with their daughters surgery last week and they might or might not be joining us on Saturday. Our good thoughts and prayers go out to Reina!

AZUR RESTAURANT & PATIO

EMNETT ACRES will have wonderful green and wax beans, corn, zucchini, summer squash, okra and slicer tomatoes by the pound and grape and salad tomatoes by the container! Don't forget the wonderful zucchini breads and red raspberry jams!

BELLAIRE BLOOMS will have their colorful fresh cut flowers available bit by the stem and in bouquets! Add some wonderful color to your tabletop!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have sweet corn, tomatoes, green beans, cantaloupes, potatoes, squash, onions and loads more!

We'll be set up in the parking lot of our sponsors, Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly! And, we love seeing your four-legged friends!

Our farmers will be set up in the parking lot and possibly the patio of AZUR Restaurant & Patio. Beaumont Centre is just outside new Circle Rd. off of Harrodsburg Rd.
