Bluegrass Farmers Market

Happy day before the Saturday Bluegrass Farmers' Markets to all of you! I know that sounds like a strange intro into the usual Friday morning market blog but I wasn't sure where to go with it this week. Each week I send out two emails to all of our farmers asking for their information for the upcoming week. If I don't hear from them, then I have no way of knowing what will be available. Apparently many of them were extra busy this week because I only heard from a few so this will be a short, but very sweet, list of what will be available at the markets tomorrow. I can almost promise that you will find much more! :)

It's also the time of year to ask our customers what they would like to see next year...seed ordering time is coming up faster than we know it! Our farmers aim to please so they need to know if there is anything else that you would like to have available next year. Heck, we'll take all comments about the market...good or bad. We do listen! Just email them to fromourfarms@aol.com and I'll make sure that everyone gets the messages.

Now that I have started to cause panic asking about the market next year, rest assured that we are still open and will be through the end of October! Heck, the fall crops are just now starting to come in! You'll soon see pumpkins, winter squash and fall flowers like mums! :) Until then, the summer bounty is still plentiful and guaranteed homegrown by our farmer members!

And, just in case you are wondering who the heck I am...my name is Karin and yes, I am the person who lets you know what to expect each week. It's a pleasure to keep you, our valued customers, informed the best that I can.

So, here's the market news for tomorrow...

RICHMOND RD.

KELLY'S KOBE BEEF & HERMAN'S HAPPY HOGS will be running a sale on their sausage patties...just $3.75 a pound! Look for their Waygu “Kobe” beef patties sale priced at $5.00 a pound too!

CALUDI'S FIELDS will be bringing their wonderful fruit jams and plenty of red ripe tomatoes!

GREEN GARDEN ON COLBY will be bringing their tomatoes, potatoes, green beans and corn!

JANE'S GARDEN, FLOWERS & HERBS will be loaded down with colorful fresh cut flowers!

OVERMAN'S BG FRUIT & VEGETABLES will be bringing plenty of tomatoes, Roma green beans, eggplant, red cabbage and corn!

JONES PRODUCE will arrive with tomatoes, potatoes, onions, squash, melons and maybe even some corn!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have plenty of tomatoes, corn, squash, butternut squash, half runners, greasy beans , okra and melons!

BARRON'S FARM will be bringing their tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and green beans!

HERB'N RENEWAL plans on bringing their herb seasoning blends, handcrafted soaps and Zucchini, Apple'n Oat Thingies. But, remember that if it is raining...they will not be there. Darn shame because Drew almost feels like moving again after his surgery!

MCMAINE'S RIVERHAVEN FARM will not be at the market tomorrow but they will be back on Tuesday!

AZUR RESTAURANT & PATIO

CALUDI'S FIELDS will have plenty of their red ripe tomatoes and wonderful fruit jams!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have plenty of tomatoes, corn, squash, butternut squash, half runners, greasy beans , okra and melons!

BELLAIRE BLOOMS will be at the NoLi night market on North Limestone tonight so chances are they will not have enough of their beautiful flowers to brighten our market on Saturday...go visit them tonight for some music, eats and fun!

And, who knows what other surprises you might find at either market!

We'll be set up in the parking lot of our sponsors, Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly! And, we love seeing your four-legged friends!

Our farmers will be set up in the parking lot and possibly the patio of AZUR Restaurant & Patio. Beaumont Centre is just outside new Circle Rd. off of Harrodsburg Rd.

PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE AT BOTH MARKETS!!!
