Bluegrass Farmers Market

This is a very special weekend at the Bluegrass Farmers' Market. We'll be celebrating the dads in our lives and the opening of a second market location!

First and foremost...dad! Sunday is his special day, so why not treat him to an extra special day of great foods. Start the day off with farm fresh eggs, bacon, fried taters and sweet sliced strawberries or black raspberries. Lunch could be a wonderful crisp salad with crunchy lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions topped with a honey vinaigrette dressing and a slice of zucchini, apple'n oat thingies on the side. Dinner could be prepared on the grill with perfectly seasoned beef, pork, chicken, goat or lamb. Grill some zucchini or yellow squash, cauliflower or cabbage, steam some green beans...the choices are endless. Don't forget to treat dad to a bouquet of beautiful flowers...yes, men love them too! Finish the day off with a slice of chocolate zucchini cake topped with ice cream. Sorry, you'll have to go somewhere else for the ice cream but the Bluegrass Farmers' Market can supply you with everything else. :) If you want to surprise dad with a wrapped up gift...how about some he-man scented soap or a jar of pepper jam or a bag of herb seasoning! How about treating him to an herb plant...and, planting it for him. I promise, our farmers can make dad feel special!

Now on to the next special news...we now have a second market location! Starting this Saturday you'll be able to find some of us in the Stonewall Center on Clays Mill Rd.! We'll be set up in front of Another Man's Treasure from 9 until 2. We'll be there on Thursday from 3 until 6! Come visit us in our second location. :)

Our farmers grew, raised, baked, produced or made everything that they sell. No reselling allowed...you will be purchasing from one of our members directly! It's called local and we guarantee it!

We'll be set up in the beautiful tree lined parking lot of Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs, right next door to the Glenn Auto Mall on Richmond Rd. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly!
