Bluegrass Farmers Market

Wow, where has the summer gone? The children are back in school, the pools are closing, U.K. Football is about to kick off and it's Labor Day weekend! The great news...the Bluegrass Farmers' Market is still going strong! And, you'll be able to find plenty of items for your Labor Day picnic or tailgating at the season opener...go U.K.! Think grilling burgers, chicken, pork chops, steaks and all sorts of veggies. Heck, someone even told me that grilled watermelon was great too. Don't forget to make your table shine with colorful fresh cut flowers.

Both market locations will be hopping on Saturday...here's just a bit of what you'll find at each location.

RICHMOND RD.

ON TAPP DAIRY will be bringing their grass fed beef, pork, chicken and veal. Don't forget the farm fresh eggs!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have freshly harvested corn, tomatoes, beans, squash, potatoes, onions, peppers, apples, watermelon, and cantaloupe!

KELLY'S KOBE BEEF & HERMAN'S HAPPY HOGS will be loaded down with their ASH FREE beef and pork cuts. Look for specials including breakfast sausage rolls 1 lb. plus for $3.75. 100% Wagyu “Kobe” ground beef, also in 1 lb. plus rolls for just $5.00!

CALUDI'S FIELDS will have plenty of tomatoes and loads of fruit jams!

JANE'S GARDEN, FLOWERS & HERBS will be able to supply you with plenty of bright and colorful zinnias to decorate your tables or tailgates!

MCMAINE'S RIVERHAVEN FARM will be bringing all sorts of tomatoes, peppers both sweet and hot, eggplant, okra, summer squash, cucumbers, watermelons and basil! Don't forget their wonderful pepper jams and fruit jellies!

JONES PRODUCE will have corn, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans and melons!

BARRON'S FARM will be bringing heirloom tomatoes, green beans, eggplant and who knows what else...all from their farm!

STIVERS BROTHERS will have their farm fresh tomatoes, potatoes, onions, squash and much more!

HERB'N RENEWAL was hoping to be at the market tomorrow but they're sorry to say that Drew's recovery from surgery is not going as speedy as expected. They'll miss everyone but promise to be back next week!

AZUR RESTAURANT & PATIO

STONE BURR FARM...honey, honey and more honey!!!

VALLEY OAK FARM will have freshly harvested corn, tomatoes, beans, squash, potatoes, onions, peppers, apples, watermelon, and cantaloupe!

CALUDI'S FIELDS will have plenty of tomatoes and loads of fruit jams!

BELLAIRE BLOOMS will be the booth to visit if you want your picnic table to be bright and colorful with fresh cut flowers. Look for individual stems and already prepared bouquets!

EMNETT ACRES FARM will probably be making their last appearance at the market this season...their crops are winding down. But, tomorrow they will have a good supply of winter squash, both Acorn and Butternut, Ponderosa Pink tomatoes and some squash, peppers and okra. Don't forget their Caroline raspberry jam!

CLARK FARM will be loaded down with their homegrown green tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, red and green okra, white and purple egg plant, potatoes and chard!

And, who knows what other surprises you might find at either market!

We'll be set up in the parking lot of our sponsors, Pedal the Planet and Fast Signs. It's just a hop, skip and a jump outside of Man 'O War Blvd. Parking is right there so you don't have to drive around hunting for a spot to park. The parking lot is also paved and that makes it very stroller and wheelchair friendly! And, we love seeing your four-legged friends!

Our farmers will be set up in the parking lot and possibly the patio of AZUR Restaurant & Patio. Beaumont Centre is just outside new Circle Rd. off of Harrodsburg Rd.

PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE AT BOTH MARKETS!!!
