Tangle Tree Ranch

On the way to Sustainability, one pice at the time.
(Doyon, North Dakota)

Long time, lots done!!!

So since we are in the green time of winter, we are just like everyone else, lambing, kidding and calving!! Going good, but it is cold for the little ones, so they are not free to roam as they should by now. Our hoop house left us last May, just lifted by the wind, not too bad damage, but needs fixing. Bob hurt his shoulder in November, so his has lots of pain, but still gets most of the chores done. We are currently milking 2 goats and 1 cow, so that takes time. The cow we milks just one time a day, due to not needing all her milk. Her calf take care of the rest. The goats are milked 2 times daily, so maybe I can make some cheese in a week or so, who knows. Not sure how big our garden will be this year, but last year we had nothing, so it will be more than that!!! Our livestock count has increased, only 20 head of bovine, 145 head of sheep and goats( together), a few ponies and some big horses. 3 llamas, a mule and a yard full of free range turkeys and chickens. This keeps us busy. Thank you for taking time to read my writing. Marte, the scribe
