This was a great year for us as far as the new lambs went. We had all of our ewes except two pregnant from unknown sources. We heard there were 3-5 rams possibly responsible, but nobody is talking. As all of the lambs could not be registered, we had a great sale on ewes for people who wanted to get started but didn't want the high cost of a registered animal. The others are all set for a dinner reservation this November. We do have 2 lambs left to sell. The lamb is going for $4.99 per pound, which includes french cut rack of lamb. It's all USDA inspected and certified. The cost does not include shipping, but even then it's a great price for gourmet icelandic lamb. These deals were our way to start off the year for all the blessings we recieved.
Living on our farm is so freeing. It is very hard to leave as when I am outside and look around, I just realize how blessed we are to be able to raise our own food and do it with alot of care and responsibility.
Well, we're getting ready for mating season, this time our two registered rams, Blink & Bandit will sire for the next years lambing season. We are still working on our webpage, putting it together slowly. Feel free to visit us and sign the guestbook.
