Guess who has hogs going in the beginning of November and has some half and whole hogs available still? We do, we do! This is healthy and humanely raised pork! No antibiotics or hormones ever given-these have been healthy pigs! Pasture-raised, fed grass, hay, high quality pig feed (show feed ) and fruits and veggies from the farm. Average cost on a whole hog, around $800 to $900, including processing, or average half a hog, $400 to $450 total cost (price is at $2.50 a pound, live weight). Averaging around 150 pounds of take home pork on the whole hog or again, half of that if you get half a hog. We had eight hogs in August with an average weight around 260 pounds but we had some smaller and some larger, so we will have some all different weights again.
