News reporting that an estimated 10,000 cattle have died or will have to be euthanized due to the Texas fires. There was already a shortage of cattle from the drought conditions out west a couple years ago. Cattles prices have held consistent over the last few years but due to the effects of the drought and now the fires, expect the prices to increase a lot more. Current cattle prices at local sales barn have increased from 2023 to 2024.
