Getting Ready For Winter

Making Changes at the Farm For Future

Was given this year two young sour Cherry Heirloom Trees

Getting ready to Plant them and hope I can out smart the Rabbit and Deer till summer the the Birds.

Thinning out and tying up the many type of Raspberry plants.

Hens are getting there winter feathers and young Roosters are getting closer to the Freezer.

Made improvements this year on the coupe they now have better windows and an Anderson Sliding glass door ( all were used like new I recovered). So the hens have better windows and doors then our house. LOL

Transplanting more Horseradish and Rosemary. Reworking the crazy looking hoop house built last year for the rosemary. But, it worked great the plants grow more then double their size from last fall. It is the best they have done in the 3 yr. I have been working with them.

Have more Jerusalem Artichokes to move and Sage.

Mom has been very busy with her Card Making and they have been selling very well. They are made of 97% recycled material. Her newest type are called Iris as they way they are put together is like the Iris of your eye. She loves all the seed catalogs I am always getting as the paper with the colorful pictures really works nice for the iris cards.

Dad at 88 still going out everyday and doing his fret work with the wood. His newest thing is he has glued several different woods together to get the layers of different wood color and cutting out bracelets, for the Santa Shop at our local elementary schools.

Still have Apples to put up and make more Apple jam. Made Pear Jam for the first time love it taste like pie. My Daughter made some great Berry and Peach pies this year. It was a good year for Fruit.

Looking forward to getting the changes done here on the farm of going to more Chickens, Berries, Fruit, Herbs, Horseradish, Rhubarb, Asparagus, Jerusalem Artichokes. Small Produce Fields. A large portion of one of the Produce fields I will plant in non-GMO soybean for the soil. I am trying to make the farm better pay at least for it's self as well as be able to keep up with it. As I am no spring chicken anymore. The bending, lifting and heavy carrying is getting to be too much for me to do as long of days everyday.

We are always hitting stages of our life that we have to make changes in what we do and how much.

Thank you  all my loyal customers and look forward to keep on seeing you!
