Little Hat Creek Farm is a small ecological vegetable farm run by Ben Stowe and Heather Coiner on leased land in Nelson County, VA. We grow over 200 varieties of vegetables and berries without chemical inputs. Our goal is to steward our farm's biology so that we build soil, protect our pollinators and natural predators, and nourish our plants so that they stay healthy on their own, taste great, and provide peak nourishment to those who eat them. We also produce artisan wood-fired breads that are made entirely by hand and fermented slowly to naturally develop flavor and nutrition. We use locally-grown and -milled grain in our breads to help build our local food economy. Our laying hens eat a grass and bug diet supplemented with compost and a local non-GMO feed.

Every year we employ one full-time intern from April to October. Our employee is involved in every aspect of our farm, including doing a market on their own. This is a paid position advertised on the ATTRA website.

You can find us at the Charlottesville, Nelson, and Lexington markets, and through our bread & vegetable CSA program. New for 2015, if you're on a budget, we have a limited number of "pay-what-you-can" CSA shares available. Please contact us for details!
