Brown Family Farm

Brown Family Farm is a breeder of Barbados Blackbelly sheep, Nigerian Dwarf/Pygmy goats, and Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardians. While we have primarily been breeders of the GPs, we have ventured into the sale of lamb meat. Our heritage breed of Barbados Blackbelly are hair sheep that are often considered for meat production. In addition to BBs and GPs, we sell Nigerian Dwarf and Pygmy goats. We sell our goats as primarily companions, but will consider selling for meat production.

All of our sheep and goats are grass fed, meaning that they graze primarily on grass in the pasture. We do offer grains to our animals once daily in moderation to maintain a complete balance of nutrients. Our animals are separated by breed with the GPs being divided between the goats and sheep. Our GPs are bred and trained on the farm with the assistance of the adult dogs. We find that the best training comes from the current workers.

All of our GPs are seen yearly by our vet for vaccines and check ups. We usually have 2 to 4 litters per year. You may contact us for updates on expected litters.
