This farm is a family owned since 1884. In 2006, the farm was converted from crop and livestock to hardwood trees and prairie grassland. Approximately, two acres have been set aside for gardening. The past two years have been devoted to raising mostly heirloom vegetables and the establishment of a flock of heritage chickens and turkeys. The vegetables are naturally grown with no pesticides, herbicides, or insectisides. Instead, integrated pest management is utilized. Our specialties large sized cabbages and onions, heirloom peppers (hot and sweet), and heirloom tomatoes (several varieties). The turkeys are Narrangansett, Bronze, and Bourbon Red mix and make a wonderfully tasting meal for Thanksgiving. The animals free range in the warmer months of the year.
