Chestnut Charlie's Organic Tree Crops

Chestnut Charlie's is a family-owned orchard in organic tree crops, specializing in chestnuts. Our guiding principles are to select, test, culture and improve the best food-bearing trees and perennials which are suitable for our local climate and soils with a minimum of off-farm inputs. Because trees contribute to soil-building, prevent erosion, produce oxygen, sequester carbon and moderate climate, tree crops are sustainable agriculture. In addition to chestnuts, native pecans, walnuts and pawpaws are under development. Chestnut harvest is typically from mid-September to mid-October. We offer fresh organic chestnuts locally and by mail from late September into December. U-Pick chestnut gatherers are welcomed during late harvest if conditions are good - check our website: www.chestnutcharlie.com. We sell also at the Lawrence Farmers Market and supply several local and regional natural food stores.
