Simply Pastured

Welcome to our farm. We are located in Youngsville, NC. We are 30 minutes east of Raleigh, 45 minutes from Durham, and 15 minutes from Wake Forest. We are a small family farm with a big focus. We specialize in Pastured Chickens, Pastured Turkeys, and Pastured Goats. We use a holistic, whole farm, approach to managing our farm. We believe that the welfare of animals raised for food is just as important as the animals we have as pets and that all farming practices should increase biodiversity and improve soil health. We are Shawn and Melissa Richards, the owners and farmers of Simply Pastured. We both have a love for animals and the natural world around us. We have adopted a system of farming, through much research and practice, in which all of our animals thrive in a symbiotic relationship. Every species and breed was specifically chosen at Simply Pastured. All of our animals, in addition to being a food source, work for us (Don't tell them. They don't know they are working for us. They think they are just enjoying life.) improving the land and providing additional benefits to the other species at the farm.
