My husbands family farm since the early 1900's. In 2009 attained our organic certification. The "big farm" is mostly cash crop, corn soybean etc. But my family's garden has grown tremendously, and i have a great surplus. Certified organic starter plants, seed potatoes, some produce. We are starting out as a co-op to try to help make gardening organically affordable for everyone. We get semi loads of organic gypsum, fertilizer, etc. I buy bulk greenhouse supplies. Putting buying power together benefits us all! I want 5 tomato varieties, but that gives me way more plants than i can use!. Potatoes are half the price if you buy in bulk, and i ordered 6 varieties this year, I don't need that much for my family. So this is how my idea for a coop got started.

We are a certified organic farm, offering inexpensive starter plants, fertilizers, gypsum, hay, straw, cover crops, and everything else needed to have a wonderful organic garden. I use all the same stuff my husband does on the 200 acre organic cash crop farm. I have been taking his stuff for years, and it is now time to let others in on the savings. Get to know your farmer- and LET IT BE YOU!!!
