The Connecticut State Museum of Natural History and Connecticut Archaeology Center explores how the natural history of southern New England has shaped the lives of the people who live here and how people, in turn, have shaped the environment.
Located in the heart of the UConn campus, the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History is an important part of a broad educational vision-- a vision focused not only on passing knowledge to future generations, but also on applying this knowledge to solve problems and improve the quality of people's lives. The Museum has a unique role in sharing world-class scholarship about our region directly with the public, giving people of all ages new types of learning experiences and helping them make this information relevant to their own lives.
