We are planning on enough variety in the crops we grow that, once our gardens come into full production, we should be able to offer a fair amount of choice to our CSA members. In the early weeks, and depending upon weather conditions, however, this may not always be possible.

We have a lot of heritage and rare varieties, so I can pretty much guarantee that we will have some things you have never even seen before, much less tried, and we choose our varieties for taste and nutrition rather than for keeping and shipping qualities. I believe the more diversity you have in your diet the better, and I love to try new things, and to find the most delicious varieties possible.

If there is something that you particularly want us to grow, we will be happy to do so, with the understanding that there is no guarantee that any particular crop will be successful.

In addition to growing crops, we also brew our own kombucha and water kefir, for their incredible health benefits, and we also make a lot of our own household products, from cleaning products such as laundry soap and counter cleaner to shampoos, lotions and bug spray. We do so in order to detoxify our own home and rid our lives of the chemical contamination which surrounds us all, by using only natural, nontoxic ingredients, food grade oils and naturally derived essential oils and herbal teas, tisanes and tinctures.

We will make these products available as we go along.

Each CSA membership will come with a requirement to work periodically at the farm. For a full share, the requirement is to work eight hours per month, and for a half share, four hours per month. A typical work day at the farm will consist of working from 8 AM to 12 PM or thereabouts doing things such as planting, picking, washing and packing crops, followed by a lunch we will provide from our farm bounty. We generally won't include meat, although we may occasionally, but if you like you can bring your own meats, and we do have a grill you can use for that purpose. We will provide all the water you can drink along with iced herbal teas.

We are also planning to offer a winter CSA and will provide more information on that in the future.
