Yellowbird Farm

Yellowbird farm is a micro farm in progress. the acreage is flanked by fresh water canals. the property was historically a horse farm. the original hundred foot barn is still used. there are 5 nubian girls planning on getting pregnant for the spring. a 70 x 90 garden was established 10 years ago as well as 6 raised beds. The lemon tree is a real trouper. persimmon trees were already established when i purchased the property. i established a large worm bed and a compost pile. I am investigating how to grow mushrooms and i have found cold hardy banana trees that may be a good candidate to grow. my kale business is growing so my garden will primarily focus on providing kale and produce for home use. I participate in the local farmers market.
