Our target date for beginning CSA pick-ups is June 8th. Due to weather and other factors beyond our control, the first pick-up date may be slightly later (or earlier) from that target date. We will update our blog and notify you via e-mail or Facebook messaging no less than 7 days before we are ready for the first pick-up date. From that start date until the veggies stop producing due to frost or they have run their full cycle (usually the beginning/middle of October), we will have 18-20 weeks of pick-up on Thursday evenings from 4:00-6:30 PM in Limington. We will announce the exact pick-up location shortly. For a one time fee of $50, crop shares can be picked up in South Portland near Mill Creek on Fridays (time and location to be announced later). We may also offer a pick-up location in Biddeford for the one-time fee of $50, dependent on where our CSA members live.
CSA is a partnership, and there are some expectations for our CSA members as well. By electronically or physically signing this form and joining our CSA, you agree to and understand the following: Farming is heavily dependent on factors we as humans cant control. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, weather conditions, soil temperature, or climate may result in crop failure. We live in a rural area, which means bugs and other animals can access our fields, sometimes damaging (or eating) our crops. Natural preventative measures will be used to minimize this, but some animals (ie. Deer, raccoons, birds) grow accustomed to these methods and decide the wonderful smorgasbord of food outweighs the fear of the deterrent. If you do not pick up your CSA share at your given time and location, and have not scheduled an alternate person to pick up, your share will be donated to a local food pantry. We, being part of the same CSA community, will treat everyone considerately and with respect at pick-ups and other farm-related events Your payment holds your place in the CSA. -You have the option to pay in full when signing up. If you choose this option, you will receive a gift from the farm at the end of the growing season. -You have the option to pay in two installments. To reserve your spot, the following deposit is needed at time of sign up:
Backyard share - $350 Lunch Pail share - $200 Meat and Potatoes share Backyard or Lunch Pail deposit + $5.00 deposit x quantity of birds you wish to order Weekly flower share - $175 Bi-weekly flower share - $100 Whole Shebang - $500 Wicked Good Deal- $460
For delivery to Westbrook/Portland or Biddeford drop-off site, a one-time fee of $50 is additionally required. (This fee will be waived for SGC employees, and reduced to $30 for Biddeford School Department employees)
If you choose to pay in two installments, the balance is due June 8th*. If your account is not paid in full by this date, you cannot pick up a share until your bill is paid. If we do not receive payment by June 15th, we will charge a late fee of $25. * For Meat and Potatoes share, balance for chickens will not be charged until they are ready to be picked up (probably around August/Sept.) There are no refunds or discounts other than the stated delivery fees for SGC and Biddeford School Dept. employees.
In closing, we promise to grow the best possible food and/or flowers possible for you on our family farm in Limington. You agree to help take on some of the risk associated with farming by paying for your portion in advance. We will dedicate our time and efforts towards turning your investment into delicious, healthy food and gorgeous flowers.
