Not all beef is the same! At E & M Farms, we start with Angus bulls to bread a herd of Angus, and Angus cross cattle that carry the best traits for quality and quantity of meat. That herd is then set out to lush, green pastures to graze on nutritious grass and enjoy a ideal environment. Because of this spacious and pristine setting our cattle don't require hormones or antibiotics. Then as the cattle start to approach market weight, we add grain to their diet to add properly marbled fat. This fat is critical for flavor, tenderness, and juiciness.
The grocery store alternative is raised in crowded conditions, loaded with antibiotics, and hormones, has a less ideal diet and ultimately is not as tasty or healthy.
Even 100% grass fed beef can't compete with our, as 100% grass fed cattle are very lean and lack the marbling and quantity of fat. 100% grass fed beef will be tougher, dryer and less flavorful.
