Eastern Shore Growers' Collective is a group of farms on the Delmarva Peninsula who are working together to get their produce on to the plates of local consumers. Small growers often do not have the human resources to successfully grow food, effectively market and distribute, and stay compliant with ever changing food regulations all while keeping the farm running successfully. The growers involved with the collective are happy to have some of their marketing and distribution handled collectively outside of the farm operations. The growers' collective currently includes Baywater Greens of Salisbury, Fox Briar Farm of Salisbury, Naturally Sunkissed Farm of Bishopville, Terrapin Farms of South Point near Assateague, and Chesapeake Organics, a certified organic farm in Somerset County.
Grocery stores operate on the premise of food as business. The Eastern Shore Growers Collective and the Eastern Shore Food Cooperative are operating on the principle of food as art and life. The vision of both the growers group and the consumers group are that people in this area have improved access to wholesome, affordable, locally-produced food.
Order a la carte after joining the co-op with a $30 membership fee or order a small or large CSA box, available weekly full of local, seasonal produce grown with out synthetic inputs.
