Description We live in a generation where the term 'local' is thrown around in such a loose fashion. When vacationing, we may eat at local restaurants and shop at local stores in an attempt to sample a bit of the surrounding culture only to feel what we received is tasteless, generic, and bland. Many times the food we are served has traveled farther then even ourselves. Let's cut the miles out of our meal and taste the local culture. "Eat Drink Local" is not an online magazine. We are a local voice pointing to the restaurants and shops that choose to be different by buying from local farmers and fishermen. Our purpose is to be every local producers helping hand by giving a competitive edge to the backbone of local restaurants and shops that make up the Tampa Bay Economy. The steps to join the Eat Drink Local campaign are simple. The restaurant must have a locally grown or caught dish. For example. a seafood restaurant may carry grouper caught by local fisherman or an ice-cream parlor that may use strawberries grown in plant city Tampa bay. Along with restaurants, we will also be featuring shops and nightlife. For a store to be featured as a local shop a designated percentage of its merchandise must be locally produced. These policies are the support columns of the Eat Drink Local campaign.
