What is Edgewood Farms Holistic Beef? The Holistic Beef at Edgewood Farms meets all of the standards of certified organic beef. While USDA Organic uses certifying agencies to inspect and certify the operation, the Holistic label for Edgewood Farms is certified by a representative of the community annually. The Holistic label supports community controlled oversight rather than government regulation. At Edgewood Farms we maintain complete transparency with our actions by allowing anyone to visit the farm to observe our practices in action. Certain organic standards are exceeded by Holistic standards. Organic standards allow certain pesticide use such as BT. Organic standards also allow and even encourage vaccination of animals. Because Holistic standards do not allow herbicides, pesticides or vaccinations, our practices support family consumer wellness.
