This year we will start the season growing zucchini, yellow summer squash, cucumbers (slicing and pickling), purple and green beans, a variety of peppers, and a large variety of tomatoes. Later in the season we will have butternut, buttercup, traditional hubbard, blue ballot hubbard, spaghetti squash, and yokohama winter squash. We will also have sweet corn later in the year.
Also new this year, we will be starting a small pumpkin patch! As most of the locals know, we grow giant competition pumpkins and have them on display by the road at the end of the season. This year we have decided to grow a variety of small and large carving pumpkins to sell alongside our vegetable stand. Pumpkins will be ready around the 1st of October and you are more than welcome to stop out and take pictures with our 1000+ pound Atlantic Giant pumpkins.
This season we will also be participating in the Charlotte Artisans and Farmers Market in downtown Charlotte on Thursdays from 2-6pm.
