WNC From the Ground Up is a nonprofit regional food hub rooted in the mountains of western North Carolina, connecting families across Jackson County and the surrounding region directly to the small farms and farmers who grow their food. Founded in the heart of the pandemic by a community member who believed that local food systems could be rebuilt from the ground up, we have grown into an 18,000 square foot hub in Sylva, NC, partnering with more than 50 local farm families to aggregate, cold store, and distribute the freshest Appalachian grown produce, proteins, and farm products available.
Through our online storefront, customers can subscribe to a CSA share for a reliable seasonal supply of farm fresh goods, or shop individual farm products from across our network of small family farms. Every item you order is sourced from a real farm in our region. This is not a grocery store middleman model. This is your food dollar going straight back to the Appalachian farmers keeping this land in production.
Pickup is available at our Sylva hub at 38 E Main St, where our team hand packs your order with care in our climate controlled facility. Whether you are new to community supported agriculture or a longtime CSA member, our online shop makes it easy to know your farmer, trust your food, and invest in the future of farming in western North Carolina.
