Located in rural Hopkins County, Texas (about 1.5h east of Dallas) the Farm is a 300 acre former light cattle operation. With a mix of fertile grasslands, natural woods and numerous surface ponds, the farm is a dream location for us.
Purchased in the Spring on 2013, the process of converting it into a modern Homestead, horse rehap and retirement facility, productive CSA and special event facility began in earnest. One long and hot summer later, the horses are thriving, the kids are in school and work on the CSA is well underway. We plan to deliver to Sulphur Springs, Greenville and locations around Dallas.
With more than 20 horses, almost a dozen rescue dogs and cats, goats chickens and children, we as transforming the farm into a sanctuary for animals and people alike!.
In addition to CSA produce, we offer hand-crafted goat milk soap, fire-oven baked bread (both available through the CSA Share programs), educational clinics and special events.
Our long-term goal of becoming a self-sustaining modern homestead has lead us to pursuing organically-grown farming, large scale composting, creative water use and preservation and the production of old-skill products. We are experimenting with a number of farming techniques, from row crops to a hoop house (coming this winter) to hydro and aquaponics. Our goal is to cultivate and producing a supply of quality food year round
Our family is looking forward to growing and becoming a valued member of our community.
