We are a small family farm nestled in the beautiful mountains of southwest Virginia. Our elevation and climate combine to help us produce a superior quality in everything we grow that presents itself in the first bite.
We currently raise pasture-fed lambs. We just planted several hundred strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry plants and expect to be able to harvest modest amounts of fruit this year. Also, our grape vines, apple trees and various other fruit trees should start producing in the next 1-3 years. We will also be producing many varieties of heirloom vegetables beginning this year. Our plans include raising various types of poultry (for either meat or eggs) including chickens, ducks, turkeys, and possibly pheasants. Branching out into heritage breeds of cattle and pigs will be one of our next steps.Fresh fish is another product we are considering. We hope to start producing honey in the near future, along with many value-added products such as pies, cobblers, jams, jellies, sauces and juices.
We desire to utilize heritage or heirloom varieties when choosing what animals to raise or seeds/seedlings to plant when possible or feasible. Not everything we raise, however, may be classified as such. In the future, we hope to transition to a larger mix of heritage breeds. But rest assured we would never sell something to you claiming it is something it is not. We are not certified organic, but we do not use any chemicals on any produce we grow, whether it be fertilizer or pesticides.
We have many new and exciting things to offer in the near future, and we greatly appreciate input and feedback from potential and existing customers so that we can make sure we give you exactly what you're looking for.
We strive to fulfill what our local customers want, not just product-wise, but in taste, quality, safety and ethics. This gives you peace of mind knowing exactly where your food comes from, and gives us satisfaction from building a strong relationship with our customers that we hope will last for years to come.
