Volcano Veggies is proud to be one of the first certified organic indoor vertical aquaponic farms in the world. We are the only commercial aquaponic farm in Bend, Oregon and have been in business since 2012. It is 100% organic and completely non G.M.O.. We sell lettuce, kale, and basil year around with more produce options on the way! We are passionate about delicious and healthy food for our families and yours! Aquaponic farming mimics the natural symbiotic relationship between fish & plants. There is absolutely no use of chemical pesticides of any kind or our fish would die. Even most approved organic pesticides would kill our fish. Traditional organic farms need to supplement their soil with fertilizers. These fertilizers can be bad for the overall health of the soil and watershed. You can come visit us and see how we grow and treat our plants and fish, to be sure that what your eating is 100% chemical free! VOLCANO VEGGIES CSA PROGRAM CSA programs are a great way to support local agriculture, local economies, protect the environment by shortening food transportation time, and eat healthier, too! PRIZES AND RECOGNITION Volcano Veggies was selected as a Grand Prize finalist for the Wells Fargo Works Small Business contest! This was a nationwide contest with over 4200 entries, so we feel so honored and blessed to receive this award. The $26,000 prize will help us increase our growing capacity so that we aren�t always sold out at Newport Market. We are also proud to announce that Volcano Veggies was selected as the winner of the Concept Stage at the 2014 Bend Venture Conference. A $10,000 prize from Bend Broadband, and another $1,500 award from Palo Alto LivePlan Software which is contributing to helping us to build a second grow system.
