My partner and I farm 8 acres of Chandler walnuts. We are into our second year of transitioning into organic. We do all of the labor ourselves, mostly hand labor. No chemicals nor fertilizer has been used for two years.

We have experienced excessive foliage this year, interfering with tractor mowing. We have had to do a late pruning which has resulted in an abundance of green walnuts. They are used in making nocino, vin de noix, and an Armenian dessert. We are offering the green walnuts for sale at $2.00 a pound plus shipping, unless local for pick up.
