We raise pasture raised and finished grass fed beef, sheep and goats on well-watered slopes overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Mattole River. Animal density is low (less than 100 head on 2000 acres) which means low stress for the stock. The pastures contain native grass and forbs for a varied diet on lands reseeded to develop the soil habitat for a diverse range of forage.

We have used purebred Wagyu bulls since 2017 we have grass finished Wagyu/Angus beef, known for its marbling and tenderness. The meat has an impressive (determined by the BioNutrient Institute) 1.5 ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 oils which you experience as a light oil rather than a fatty grease that one gets with grain fed meat.

During this time of drought, our pastures are still healthy and vibrant because we employ a reserve system of pasturing. Each pasture rests for at least 6 months (incorporating some major rainfall in that period) before we bring the stock back. And these are coastal pastures with moisture year round.

You can purchase live animals and we will arrange for field slaughtering on the farm and custom butchering in Ferndale. This produces the best and most tender beef available - no tense slaughterhouse industrial experience or adrenaline pumped meat on your dinner table.
