Ulman Family Farm

We are the Ulman Family, Nate, Shelly, Kait 14, Marianne 13, Nathaniel 8, Rex 6, Evangeline 4, Thaddeus 1. We recently purchased 13 acres in Hartsgrove to try our hand at homesteading!!! Each of our children have picked a type of animal they would like to work with so therefore we are paying for all the start up costs on those particular animals and feed to encourage our "city" kids to take care and tend for livestock and try to sell enough to at least pay for feed!! They are having a blast and we are astounded at how well they are doing!! Currently we have 10 Layers and Meat birds and 0 pig and 5 cats (Katniss, Julia, MIlo) All Pasture raised! We are in the market for a milk cow and some sheep dogs:) We are fencing off 9 acres for pasture! We are planting an orchard in October and building a 2nd barn in the spring!!! We hope to be a fully running farm within a year:) and and orchard in the next 6 years. We hope to have people stop by and buy some eggs or honey and come and see how we are doing things!!
