At Fort Kepner's Tunis Farm we believe being good stewards in partnership with our animals and land produces the best tasting lamb and mutton available. Our ewes lamb naturally on pasture and are not confined to small pens. Our lambs are free of anti-biotics, hormones, and are pasture fed, not grain fed. We only breed once a year in the fall. This insures we do not over stress our ewes and lambing occurs in March and April to prevent lamb loss due to freezing. We partner with pure bred Tunis sheep, a heritage breed that is known for its mild taste. We don't raise lambs we let that to our sheep, we simply provide an environment for them to flourish. Our sheep raise lambs for people who don't like lamb, and we gladly put our lamb where our mouth is. We sell registered Tunis sheep for breeding, locker lamb and mutton, and Tunis wool. Availability is limited from May through September. We will accommodate specific preferences as to weight and sex. Visits welcomed.
