Our cattle are birthed on our ranch and are 100% pasture raised. This results in lean, healthy beef. We use only natural fertilizers and never use herbicides or pesticides on our pastures, never use growth hormones or antibiotics. Hormone & medicated feeds are never used on our cattle. Our free range, humane handling practices ensure minimal stress to the animals. All our beef is processed at a local, impressively clean, USDA inspected facility. The beef is aged seven to fourteen days, cut, vacuum-sealed and frozen to preserve the highest quality.
Due to its small size, a whole Dexter cow will fit in an average residential freezer, so you can have all the premium cuts. We take great pride in our commitment to providing your family with the highest quality and healthiest beef possible. We only sell whole or half steers, typically available for pick-up in September and January, call to reserve your next beef purchase with us today, and stay in touch on Facebook at Eagles High Ranch.
Hanging weight refers to the weight of the beef as it hangs in the butchers cooler, before it is cut and wrapped. Our average hanging weight per Dexter is 500 lbs. The final total weight of cut and wrapped meat you receive for your freezer is about 60% of the hanging weight. The butchers fees vary depending on any special cuts, sausage or patties ordered. For standard steaks, roasts and ground beef, you can expect the cost of a half steer to be about $1,187.00 total and you end up with about 150 pounds of extremely delicious and super healthy beef, cut and wrapped to your specifications.
