Golden Root at Earth Care Farm

Earth Care Farm (ECF) is most well known for its farm made "black gold" compost. My father is the compost guru. In 2000, I took over the produce growing in our fertile fields. I was starting vegetable, herb and flower seeds in our greenhouse for our own use already when I received a few requests for healthy plant starts from local gardeners. My husband and I started bringing the garden bound plants to the local farmers markets in addition to our produce and bagged compost. Now the seedlings have become the focus of my work on the farm. We carry many hard to find heirloom varieties of seedlings bred for taste and uniqueness rather than shelf life and shipping capacities. Our seeds are lovingly started in the a soil mix that consists mainly of our own compost.The seedlings are available at our local farmers' markets and through our order form.
