We focus on grass feeding at Red Rope Farm because it is most natural for the animals. Our sheep are rotationally grazed and supplemented with some grain.
Our laying hens are a mixed flock of heritage breeds so we get all shades of brown eggs, as well as green, blue and white eggs. Eggs are available for purchase at our self-serve farm stand.
We sell our lamb either whole or half (a $25 deposit is required), or by-the-cut. Lamb is usually available in the fall and/or winter. Pre-ordering is recommended.
Our traditional-style Tunis sheep are very docile and are wonderful mothers. They have beautiful, cream-colored, lofty wool with a spinning count of 54s to 58s (fine to medium). We raise some lambs each year for meat, and we also sell lambs and adult sheep for breeding when available. In addition, we also offer raw wool, roving, yarn and tanned pelts for sale.
Our crafts, wool and soap are available for sale at the farm, in our Etsy shop - www.etsy.com/shop/redropefarm/, and at craft fairs.
