Welcome to Half Mile Acres! Pasture raised chicken and pastured chicken eggs and duck eggs. Our Cornish X chickens are raised in chicken tractors from three weeks of age until they go to slaughter at eight weeks of age. The tractors are moved daily. They can feed on grass and bugs along with a ration of non-GMO feed that is free of soy, corn, antibiotics and hormones. They also always have access to fresh non-chlorinated, untreated well water. Our pasture raised chickens are as natural as you can get. We take great pride in being able to offer you great tasting and healthy chicken. Our laying hens are also treated like royalty here at Half Mile Acres. They are able to run and forage around our pasture from daylight to dark everyday. It just doesn't get any fresher than that! We are at the Bastrop 1832 Farmers Market on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. We have whole chicken and various other cuts including necks and feet. We also have chicken eggs and duck eggs until we run out. If you order ahead we will hold your items. We can also meet in Giddings or Carmine most days of the week.
