Riverview Farm Dairy Sheep

Riverview Farm Dairy Sheep is endeavoring to deliver the all around family sheep to families that desire to raise their own multi-use sheep for their family needs. This sheep provides fine wool for the hand spinner, milk for converting to lovely cheeses, and delicately flavored meat for the home table. Our sheep are handled daily and are lovingly guarded by our Livestock Guard Dogs. Our ewes depend upon and trust their shepherd for all aspects of their health and safety. We take this responsibility seriously. We maintain a small flock of carefully crossed breeds that resulted in the all-around family sheep. Our ewes are judiciously raised to produce well on a diet primarily consisting of grass hay and pasture. The tendency of our girls is to twin or triplet, so some addition of whole grains during late gestation and lactation is required to enable healthy lambing and lambs. Our lambs come in January and February, or May and April. Some fall lambs are planned for year-round availability of fresh lamb. As a secondary product for those with discriminating tastes, we are also producing heritage turkey. We raise Royal Palm Turkeys in a free range pasture, where these distinctively feathered birds munch away on bugs, acorns, and all the pasture provides. We do no processing on the farm, but can facilitate services as required. Lambs and turkeys are sold 'ready to process'.
