Holmes Grown USA

Holmes Grown USA is a family avocado grove in the hills of North County San Diego, between Escondido and Valley Center. The land has been in the Holmes family since 1925. Today Kirk and Becca Holmes run it, as the next generation to care for the trees.

The grove covers about 10 acres of commercial grove, plus a smaller home ranch of about 90 trees. We grow Hass, harvested mostly in spring, and Fuerte, a classic California variety picked from November through February. In 2026 we replanted four acres with young Hass trees to carry the grove into its next chapter.

We sell fresh-picked avocados straight from the grove, so customers get fruit days off the tree instead of weeks in a warehouse. Along the way we share the real work of farming through our website, YouTube and social media. That includes irrigation, pruning, harvest and the economics of a small family farm, plus Becca’s recipes and life on the grove.
