Hootenanny Hill is a previously owned Amish farm, that we purchased in 2012. We have been building up this piece of land, healing it through holistic and sustainable practices and gentle ways of living here and interacting with it. As of 2015, we were approved as a "Botanical Sanctuary" through United Plant Savers.
We live off grid, have a gravity feed water system and as of 2016 just got chickens on our Hill. We are building up our vegetable beds, other infrastructure and herbal plants. Diana is a practicing herbalist, since graduating from Heart Stone School in 2015 and artist and hopes to sell her wears in the 2017 summer season at local farmers markets. Bruce is a "Master Food Preserver" and will be teaching canning and food preservation in the near future.
We are WWOOF-hosts and also have our own program that we call HHIP (Hootenanny Hill Immersion Program) that allows people to live with us to experience the homesteading way of life, similar to the WWOOF programs.
