Buying local is one of the very real ways that we can positively and substantially impact our environment and our economy. At Humble, our seasonal pie menu takes advantage of the flavorful ingredients grown in and around Wisconsin in order to provide our customers with the freshest, most nutrient rich flavors while cutting down on unnecessary fuel use and packaging required to ship ingredients from further away. Local sourcing also allows us access to the small farms and vendors in our community that are committed to the safest, most nutritious and sustainable means of producing food. Although not all of our ingredients can be grown locally, we try to source as close to home whenever possible or to buy from vendors with local facilities that employ Wisconsin workers. Fruits & vegetables grown by local farmers at Dane County Farmers' Market, Verona Farmers' Market, Brennan's Market,and Metcalfe's Market

History . . . As sisters, we grew up in the South at a time when you could find delicious homemade pies at every roadside diner. In fact, our Mother & Grandmother bravely made it their quest to search out the world's best peach fried pie and our Father actually planned travel routes based on the quality of pie available along the way. Last year, when we had the opportunity to live near each other for the first time in 20 years, we decided that pie was a tradition well-worth reviving. Inspired by its commitment to local food and sustainability, as well as its abundant sources of delicious home grown flavor, we agreed that Dane County would be the perfect location and we are proud to be introducing the soulful tradition of southern pie making to Southern Wisconsin. Products . . . Humble is a small batch bakery that handcrafts pies from locally sourced, farm fresh ingredients. Each Humble pie, whether sweet or savory, is wrapped in an incredibly light & flaky crust and filled with fragrant fillings. Our pies are baked to order so they are always fresh and feature seasonal flavors tweaked for modern palates.
